8. Fields

The Fields list displays all fields that have been added to the system through the administration screens.


When a field is edited the details of the field are displayed.

Field name

The short unique name of the field used in lists and reporting

Data type 

The type of the field

Description

A description of the field for reference purposes

Does this field contain Personally Identifiable Information
When checked data in the field will automatically be anonymised when the record is no longer needed
Should this field be anonymised when data is no longer needed
When checked allows a field to have its data anonymised even though it may not contain Personally Identifiable Information, when the record is no longer needed


Save the field


Cancel changes and return to the list


Field visibility

In multi-organisation systems fields can be set to only be visible to certain organisations.

By default fields are visible to all organisations if the Visible to these organisations field is blank.
If one or more organisations are specified then it is only visible them. The other organisations will not be able to see the field on any forms or add it to any lists.
